The Grand Oracle des Dames 1870 offers a seven-card reading and belongs to the tradition of richly illustrated divination decks of the 19th century.
Seven cards are selected and then interpreted according to their positions. The reading covers the situation, obstacles, past, present, development, guidance, and answer.
The seven positions allow a question to be explored from several angles. The past provides context, the central cards describe the situation and its development, while the guidance and answer bring the reading to a close.
These large oracle decks reflect the interest in richly illustrated divination games during the 19th century. Today, the reading offers an opportunity to discover their imagery while preserving their symbolic dimension.
